Privacy-focused by design

Umami’s standard tracker does not use cookies and is designed to avoid collecting personal information or following visitors across websites. A self-hosted installation also gives you direct control over where your analytics data is stored.

The plugin adds further controls for respecting the browser’s Do Not Track preference and excluding URL search parameters or fragments from analytics. If your privacy policy or applicable rules require consent before any analytics request, you can hold the complete Umami tracker until the visitor accepts a selected group in Publii’s Cookie Banner.

Start tracking in three steps

1. Add your website to Umami Cloud or your self-hosted Umami installation.
2. Copy its Website ID and tracker script address into the plugin options in Publii.
3. Choose your tracking, privacy, and consent settings, then publish the site.
